“We started to date. It was awkward. I was dating my husband. How is it I’ve become the other woman? We’d go to dinner, movies, to the park and enjoy each other’s company. We did not talk about what happened. Just chatted it up like we were girlfriend and boyfriend. We probably went on “dates’ more during our time of separation than we had before the separation. It got to a place where he would have me come to their house to hang out, talk about crazy!” [Excerpt from Chapter 3]
Cheating/Infidelity has the propensity to bring on shame and embarrassment. I never could have imagined that I would be in a position to be considered the “other woman”. Cheating was a deal-breaker for me, but somehow, I found myself in this position. When I yielded to the Lord and gave my uncompromised yes, I didn’t know it would mean loving my husband through one of the most difficult times of my life. I had asked God to use me as a tool of reconciliation. Be careful what you ask for because it may put you in situations you never dreamed possible. The other side of that is, God will bring you out and you won’t smell like smoke. He brought me to a place of wholeness and freedom that I wouldn’t trade for the world. In this journey, we call life we never know what we will have to endure. One thing I have learned is if we keep our relationship with our heavenly father intact and seek Him, He will direct our paths. We will eat the good of the land and experience a joy that lasts forever. I encourage you to keep pressing! No matter where you are in life, know that you are not alone. Be encouraged, don’t quit, and you will win!
