Walking in the Newness of Life

Walking in the newness of life is another way of saying being present. Being free of the past. Of unforgiveness. Of shame.

Walking in the newness of life is claiming your potential. Your bountiful future. And consulting God for his idea of you is a great tool for achieving it.

What do I mean? I mean ask God who you are. And listen. Deeply. Don’t take your own opinion. Or your husband’s. Not even your BFFs. God sees through all your layers. Your defenses. Your mistakes. He sees only you, always you.

And by accepting His version of you as your truth, you bloom. You relax and enjoy being present. In this moment. Fear and anxiety exit your equation naturally. They simply cease to connect with your receptors when you are reveling in this space.

And while on this new path there may be moments that challenge it. Where you revert to seeing yourself as other than a child of the Most High God. But you have tools. Take a breath. Look within. Forgive yourself. Ask God again who you really are and what you need to do in this moment to remember that.

Like many parts of healing, walking in the newness of life is a choice. A choice to be made and remade often. Just like riding a bike, healing takes practice. Eventually, the practice becomes both the journey and the destination. Here’s to your newness! May you shine in it.
